Kona Coast State Park

The road is long and pretty rough but the salt and pepper sand and the swimming, picnicking, snorkeling, shore diving, lazy body boarding and winter whale watching (remember the binoculars) make it worth it. Left of the red house is a good shore diving access point.

This park is located about 9 miles north of Kona on Highway 19, turn left at sign and proceed on unpaved rough road for 1.7 miles and about 24 miles south of the junction of Highways 19 and 270.
