Gallery of Great Things

The Gallery of Great Things has well over 3,000 items for sale from Hawaii, Polynesia, Indonesia and Micronesia. These include Koa wood bowls, fine prints of Hawai'iana, sculptures in wood and bronze, Hawaiian quilts, Ni'ihau shell leis, jewelry, original paintings, blowguns, shields, war clubs, totems, scale model polynesian outrigger canoes, hand carved household utensils, crafted ceramic plates, and countless other items.

Among them this arresting print by Marian Berger of the Apapane, a honeycreeper found on all the Hawai'ian Islands.

The Gallery founder and owner, Maria Covington Brick, was lured to the Big Island of Hawaii by the enchanting tales related in her grandfather's diary of 1908. After attending The Ringling School of Art on the "mainland" she came to Hawaii over 25 years ago. Working as an interior designer she eventually opened the Gallery of Great Things.

From the beginning Maria has had a strong desire to exhibit and preserve the Cultural Arts of the Polynesian peoples. Because of this sense of respect for the culture and people, there also are museum quality pieces on display, many for sale.
